Elaine Kwok

2017 Nominee | Art & Culture

Elaine Kwok

As Director of Christie’s Education for Asia and Auctioneer, Elaine Kwok sits at the intersection of the commercial and institutional spheres of the art world.   Having started Christie’s Education programs in Asia in 2010, Kwok designs and teaches programs that inspire more people to engage with the art world, whether as collectors, professionals, or patrons.

She is the first person from Hong Kong to become an auctioneer at a major international auction house, and is also the only internationally-trained auctioneer to qualify as a licensed auctioneer in the People’s Republic of China.  Kwok is a frequent charity auctioneer, supporting causes in Hong Kong and beyond, and also serves on the art museum advisory committee of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
